picDid you know?  In 1922 the  blender was invented by Stephen Poplawski.  This appliance was used to make soda fountain drinks.  In 1936 Fred Waring had just finished a radio broadcast in New York's Vanderbilt Theater when Fred Osius approached him with his latest invention.  Osius was looking for someone to finance a new mixer that would "revolutionize people's eating habits".  Waring agreed to finance the project, six months later and $25,000, the blender prototype still didn't work.  Waring remained involved in the blender project, and the engineering and production problems were solved and the new "Miracle Mixer" was introduced in 1937, at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago.
