Did you know?  Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Company began in 1911 when two employess from Arnold Electric Company of Racine, Wisconson, Chester Beach and L.H Hamilton invented a motor that could run off of AC or DC electricity.  This allowed the company to offer the first commercial drink mixer to different regions of the United States that used different types of power.  Soon the company offered this motor to other household appliances, such as, sewing machines, can openers, mixers, and other motorized appliances. In 1990 NACCO Industries, who acquired Proctor-Silex in 1988 merged it's new acquisiton, Hamilton Beach with Proctor-Silex forming Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex Inc.  Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex has become a leading manufacturer for more than 27 different household appliances.  They manufacture coffeemakers to blenders, toasters to irons.  A combination of two household names, Hamilton Beach being the premium brand, Proctor-Silex being the entry brand has produced a market share of double digits and made it a leader in the field of household appliances.
