Did you know?  In 1970, inspired by a trip to France, an American engineer named Carl Sontheimer, decided to design cooking appliances for professional.  In 1972, with people looking for quick and innovative ways to cook food, Carl redesigned the restaurant food processor for home use and Robot-Coupe manufactured the food processor introducing it at the 1973 National Housewares Exposition in Chicago.  In 1988 Cuisinart was sold to a group of investors and in 1993 Cuisinart launched it's first hand held and countertop blenders.  Since the food processor in 1972 Cuisinart has launched many other lines, toaster to cappucino machines and still maintaining their goal to promote culinary experience to all.
